Welcome to Boyup Brook District High School.

Building strong relationships, strong values and strong minds

Boyup Brook District High School develops partnerships with parents that encourage students to strive for their personal best and reach their full potential. Our students take pride in themselves, their family and their school. Our staff have high expectations of themselves and are reflective lifelong learners. Our goal is to encourage excellence and prepare our students for the future.

Boyup Brook is situated in the South-West of Western Australia 270km from Perth. Boyup Brook District High School caters for students from Kindergarten to Year 10 on separate primary (K-6) and middle school (7-10) sites.

The Primary site has a purpose built Early Childhood Centre where specialist teachers and education assistants provide a safe, supportive learning environment for young students. Teachers build close relationships with parents who are welcome in the Centre. An innovative Early Start Program provides early literacy, numeracy and physical activities for 0-4 year olds. The program supports parents in appropriate developmental activities for their children and fosters a smooth transition to early years learning.

Primary students are grouped in small, multi-aged classes with experienced teachers. Our students participate in a diverse curriculum in the classroom which is supported by specialist teachers in LOTE, Music, Physical Education and Visual Arts. Students with special needs or learning difficulties are supported in achieving success by our Student Services Team. Classroom and school activities encourage parent participation. Evidence from NAPLAN testing indicates that our students’ performance is generally at, or above, WA Public Schools and schools with a similar demographic.

Middle School (Year 7-10) students are grouped in small, year level classes participating in a broad curriculum that emphasises the core learning areas of English, Mathematics, Science and Society and Environment. Student options cater for the individual talents of students enabling them to reach their potential and be prepared for the future. The Music program offered is exceptional. Within the last few years four (4) ex-students have achieved the following: acceptance into the WA Academy of Performing Arts, acceptance into John Curtin Performing Arts, received a recording contract and won a Country Music Award. There is a long tradition of promoting academic excellence and high standards of behaviour. In state and national testing Boyup Brook District High School Year 9 students usually perform at, or above, the Australian schools mean in literacy and numeracy. Our students are offered numerous opportunities to participate in challenging and enriching extra-curricula activities that cater to their individual talents, build leadership skills and ensure a successful future.
