Swimming Trials
08 Feb 2023
Dear Parents/Guardians,
In the lead up to the Inter-house Swimming Carnival, students in Years 3 to 6 will participate in swimming trials. Selected Year 1/2 student who can swim an entire lap (25m) of a stroke (freestyle, breaststroke) may also be selected to attend these trials but parents will be contacted individually or you can contact the school.
These trials will occur every Wednesday 1.15pm to 2.15pm for Years 3-6 and Friday 11:15am–12:30pm for Years 4-6:
Students will walk to and from the pool. If you do not have a season pass for the pool, you will be required to pay $2.50 per child for entry to the pool. Your child’s classroom teacher will collect all money. Students who do not bring their money will participate in sport at school instead of attending swimming.
All students compete in their year groups. Students will be timed in each faction for Freestyle, Breaststroke, Butterfly and Backstroke. This is only for the INDIVIDUAL events at the carnival. If your child does not qualify for an individual event they still attend the carnival and compete in the novelty events.
Please make sure that your child brings their bathers, towel and goggles for each of the days they are swimming. Sunscreen will be provided by the school however if your child needs an alternative sunscreen please make sure you have provided your child with this.
Please complete the slip below and return them, along with payment (if applicable), to the class teacher by Wednesday, 8th February.
Swimming Trials Permission Form
I realise this is very short notice, however we are keen to give every opportunity for students to practice.
Students who do not return forms and payment (where applicable) by due date will not attend the pool for the training session; they will remain at school.
If you have any queries, please contact the Primary School on (08) 9765 0032.

Expressions of Interest - Guitar Lessons with Mr Chris Baker
06 Feb 2023
Dear Parents/Guardians,
We are excited to offer individual guitar lessons with Mr Chis Baker on a Thursday.
This will involve a 15-20 min individual session on learning or upskilling on the guitar. These sessions will be run on a rotational basis and depending on how many students nominate, will run either on a weekly or fortnightly basis.
At this stage, we would be able to offer 6 lessons per week, which will be allocated on order of nomination, therefore first in first choice.
These lessons will be run at no cost to parents and will be allocated throughout Period 1, 2, 5 & 6.
If you would like to nominate an expression of interest for your child, please fill in the following nomination form and return back to the school no later than Wednesday 8 February.

2023 Whole School Third Party Services Consent
03 Feb 2023
Dear Parents/Guardians,
As part of risk management for online app usage by students, schools are required to inform parents of all online learning. Attached at the bottom of this letter are three pdf documents notifying you of applications used in our school.
Please complete the below consent form once you have read the PDF documents.
Please read the individual information on each application which will inform you of how a program is used and provides the individual privacy policies.
For each individual student we require you to complete the consent form. Not all classes will use all of the apps listed however as a student at our school this form will only need to be completed once for their entire schooling at BBDHS.
As new apps are added into classes throughout 2023 we will request individual consent for them.
You do not need to print and sign the below documents as the Third Party Services link above has all the consents required.
Regards,
Melissa Reimers
Principal
