Choir & Vocal
21 Aug 2019
Term Three is an exciting term for the Boyup Brook District High School Choir and Vocal Ensemble. In Week 9 of Term Three, we will be holding the Annual Musical Evening! This is a special event held once each year to showcase the talents of both groups and give students an opportunity to perform solos and duets on the big stage. The Musical Evening will be held in the Primary School Hall between 6.00-7.30pm and I am hoping to have all students from both groups in attendance. Middle School bands have also been invited to provide live backing to the singers and perform their own songs.
The Musical Evening will be held this year on Friday, the 20th of September. In order to be ready for the big event, students will need to source the following outfits for the evening. I have tried to keep the outfits as simple as possible. Please don’t feel that you need to spend a lot of money. You can borrow from friends, go to a second hand shop such as the one in town, ask Mrs Knapp, or purchase something inexpensive from any shop.
Youngblood – blue or black jeans, white short sleeved plain t-shirt, black shoes
Hooked on a Feeling/Sweet Home Alabama – Country & Western clothes eg. Flannelette shirt, cowboy hat or anything country & western style
YMCA – a police man, American Indian, construction worker, cowboy, army or a character that appeals to your child outfit
VOCAL ENSEMBLE REQUIREMENTS
Walk Me Home – black and white clothes
We’re Not Gonna Take It – rebellious school clothes (not BBDHS ones) eg. Grey school clothes and teased hair, or a cut tie over a white shirt,
Please let me know if you have any trouble sourcing any outfits so that we can ask around to see if someone may be able to lend some clothes.
All family, friends and community members are welcome to spread the word to people near and afar. The students love to have a supportive familiar face in the audience to cheer them on!
